13:23 ET - Is AbbVie pursuing a $20B to $30B acquisition? AbbVie CEO Rick Gonzalez made comments at a Goldman Sachs conference last month about doing a deal of that size, Goldman analyst Jami Rubin said on today's earnings call. She asked Gonzalez to clarify those remarks because she said investors took that to mean a deal sooner rather than later. He responded that "there's nothing on the horizon right now," but if the company found the right deal it would pursue it. He described a deal of that size as a "large bolt-on" similar to the $21B purchase of cancer-drug maker Pharmacyclics in 2015. . (peter.loftus@wsj.com; @Loftus)
