When I first heard about the company, I questioned how could they take the same product into the cannabis stores, but also to take them through the drug trial process. I thought back then that some degree of efficacy should be demonstrated, but initially that didn't appear to be the direction they were taking.
Clearly as the company changed staff and got some serious credibility they looked at becoming a more serious biotech, and as such, you don't put a product that hasn't documented efficacy on the market. I believe that's where we are today.
If the company hadn't wished to be considered a biotech, they could have ignored the patents and simply put product on the market, like so many other companies. From the beginning they didn't take that route, but the longer they were in business, the more serious they became in terms of being a biotech, not just another cannabis company.
