SAN DIEGO, July 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Envision Solar International, Inc. , (OTCQB:EVSI) (“Envision Solar,” or the “Company”), the leading renewably energized EV charging, outdoor media and energy security products company, announced today that the State of California has awarded the Company mandatory contract #1-18-61-16 to supply EV ARC™ products to State of California Departments and other state and local governmental agencies or entities. The new contract replaces the previously issued contract #15-16-61 which had a term of one year plus options to extend for two additional periods, both of which the State exercised.

The new contract term is for two years with an option to extend for two additional one-year periods. The use of the contract is mandatory for all State of California Departments and available for use by local governmental agencies. The contract covers several EV ARC™ models and also includes, for the first time, Envision’s high powered and DC fast charging EV ARC™ models. The contract also includes Envision’s emergency power solutions which provide a secure and reliable source of electricity to the State’s first responders during natural disasters or other periods of utility grid interruption.

Under the previous contract, Envision Solar successfully delivered multiple EV ARC™ units to agencies including Caltrans, the Department of General Services, the Office of the Inspector General, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the State University System. The addition of Envision’s high-powered and DC fast charging products will enable California government agencies to rapidly deploy a broader set of EV charging infrastructure solutions as those agencies work to comply with  Governor Brown’s Executive Order mandating the installation of 250,000 public EV chargers by 2025. California currently leads the US in the deployment of electric vehicles.

"There can be no better validation of our products and business model than to receive a new multi-year contract from a savvy and prestigious existing customer like the State of California," said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar. "Our products have been fueling California’s vehicles for three years now in just about every part of the State. We are delighted that California has expanded the portfolio of our products included in the new contract and we look forward too many more successful order fulfillments."

Invented and manufactured in California, the EV ARC™ fits inside a parking space without reducing available parking and generates and stores enough clean solar electricity to power up to 225 miles of EV driving in a day. The system’s solar electrical generation is enhanced by EnvisionTrak™ which causes the array to follow the sun, generating up to 25% more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored in the EV ARC™ product’s energy storage for charging day or night, and to provide emergency power during grid failure. The EV ARC™ product is a permanent solution but because it requires no trenching, foundations or installation work of any kind, it is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease. EV ARC™ products power Level I, Level II and DC Fast Charging and can work with a customer’s existing EV charging service provider.  EV ARC™ products are manufactured in the company’s San Diego facility by combat veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other minority demographics and highly talented, mission-driven team members.
