DENIS R. SALMON, INVESTMENT COMMITTEE MEMBER
For more than 30 years, Denis served as lead counsel for technology companies in the Silicon Valley and throughout the United States in the trial of cases involving high stakes intellectual property issues.
Previously a litigation partner with Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, where he served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and as Partner in Charge of the Palo Alto office.
Denis has been ranked by numerous publications, including Chambers USA, the Legal 500, IAM Patent Litigation 250, Super Lawyers, Law Dragon, BTI Client Service All-Stars, and the Daily Journal, as one of the leading intellectual property lawyers in the United States.
His patent and trade secret litigation experience includes significant cases involving wireless communications, software, internet and medical device technologies, among others.
He has appeared before federal courts in dozens of jurisdictions, including the International Trade Commission and has argued before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Denis served as Chair of the pro-bono organization Silicon Valley Campaign for Legal Services and has received the Guardian of Justice award from the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.
Before joining Gibson Dunn, Denis was a partner in the law firm of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, where he served as founder and head of the firm’s Palo Alto litigation group.
He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota law school.
