NEW YORK, July 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Health Council recently appointed David Yorio, DO to its Board of Physicians. As a board-certified family medicine physician who practices primarily in Wayne, NJ, Dr. Yorio provides insightful, high-quality care to his patients. Since entering the healthcare industry 15 years ago, Dr. Yorio has gained and provided comprehensive knowledge and experience in family medicine, obesity, and patient care.
With an intense interest for science and biology — along with a desire to serve his community — Dr. Yorio decided to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. He matriculated at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and gained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1996. He subsequently enrolled at Rutgers University and studied biochemistry and molecular biology until graduating from the institution in 1998. That same year, he enrolled at Rowan University and earned an osteopathic medicine degree in 2002. He immediately began an internship at Georgia Regents University, and by 2003, he began a residency at the same institution. After completing the residency in 2005, he immediately immersed himself in the healthcare field.
At his family medicine practice in Wayne, NJ, Dr. Yorio consults with patients of all ages. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he provides outpatient urgent care and performs sedations, physicals, and diagnostic planning. Additionally, he practices obesity medicine, staffs bookkeeping and performs evaluations. His outstanding skills led him to join the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society. To continue to evolve within the healthcare field, Dr. Yorio is a member of several organizations including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physician.
In his free time, Dr. Yorio enjoys reading and writing. His charitable demeanor often leads him to contribute to the Humane Society of the United States. His career continues to excel due to his personalization, work ethic and determination.
