GenSure is a product that was designed to work with Lifescan's OneTouch Select and SelectSimple meters. There are approximately 600,000 of these meters worldwide, primarily in Mexico, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. The meter is a near carbon copy of Lifescan's huge winner, OneTouch Ultra. The product was introduced into the markets to eliminate a need for Lifescan to discount their Ultra strips, only to find these discounted strips resold in the U.S.
There is no market for GenSure in the U.S.
I am told that DECN has already hired a distributor for Mexico and most of South America, and the first customer is going to be the largest operator of convenience stores and retail outlets in Mexico and parts of South America.
My market research contact tells me that the Mexicans will have three DECN products to sell, GenUltimate, GenSure and GenChoice, all three in International packages, beginning in October or November.
Pass this on to Hurricane Willy, but he won't understand. He's politicking to become CEO and Chairman of DECN.
