Post# of 301275
NORTH BAY, Ontario, July 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- When Jimmy Lefebvre lost his father to cancer he couldn’t accept how his father was forced to quickly succumb to the disease. Lefebvre is now over half-way across the country completing the Can-Survive Walk to raise awareness and raise funds toward cancer prevention, treatment and survivor support.
One step at a time, Lefebvre will take 7.2 million steps from his father’s front door in Grande Prairie, Alberta, to his grave near Tignish, Prince Edward Island. The journey has seen him take over 50,000 steps daily, raising over $30,000 toward his goal of raising millions for the Lefebvre Foundation. His mother, wife, and children have been following along with an RV and supplies, helping keep him motivated through Canada’s vast highways, weather and bugs.
Lefebvre is seeking locations to speak with crowds, at existing events or planned events around his arrival in their communities. Elected officials, community leaders, groups and clubs can contact the Can-Survive Walk road team at hello@thelfoundation.ca or 780.882.0782.

The Lefebvre Foundation was created in memory of Simon Lefebvre, who died of cancer in 2016. The foundation’s goal is to raise endowment funds to help society become and live cancer free through the effective use of awareness, education, support and treatment for physical and mental health and well-being of those who are affected by cancer.
The Can-Survive Walk is a 5,600 kilometre walk being completed by Simon’s son, Jimmy Lefebvre. Lefebvre will walk 7.2 million steps from Grande Prairie, Alberta to Saint Louis, Prince Edward Island between May 1 and August 31, 2018.
