Spero Therapeutics Announces Proposed Offering of Common Stock

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., July 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spero Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPRO ) (Spero), a multi-asset clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on identifying, developing and commercializing novel treatments for multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections, today announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 4,500,000 shares of its common stock.  All of the shares in the offering will be sold by Spero.  In addition, Spero expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 675,000 shares of common stock at the public offering price, less the underwriting discount.

Cowen and Company, LLC, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated and Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. are serving as joint book-running managers for the offering.  Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is acting as lead manager for the offering, and H.C. Wainwright & Co., LLC is acting as co-manager for the offering.  The offering is subject to market and other conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.
