It was me. I can't let BSR take the rap again.

I was the Chicago 8 back in 1968.
I was called "Chicago One" and people would say, "Just you? Ha-Ha-Ha"
You see back then LOL and LMFAO didn't exist so it was mostly Ha-Ha-Ha like in the old westerns.
So I rounded up 7 more like minded thinkers to join me. My posse, my gang, my classmates until the end. The Chicago 8!.
Yeah, that is right, Chicago 8, and I stand by everything I said back then.
As an eight year old, I don't think I had geography yet in school. New math was ancient math by today's standards. I still couldn't get over why they took the rugs away and why there was no more nap time for the last 3 years.
Keep in mind I wasn't in to the full day at school thing yet either. 1/2 day at Kindergarten was awesome as I would get home in time to eat baloney sandwiches while watching Bozo circus. The highlight of the week was egg salad sandwiches, which was just eggs on bread.
This rounded out my TV day of watching of Ray Rainier in the morning and the Cubs games in the afternoon.
Back then there was no borders, I only knew one, the city. Well, not even that. Just about a 4 block radius. Keep in mind this was before google maps.
Back there there was no color. It was 5 years later that I learned people were wrapped up in that and couldn't figure out why people were so stupid. I was a minority in the crowd ihungout with and respected.
Back then there was no rich or poor, I was poor and thought that was how everyone started out until they got to the 3% on merit.
Back then there were no politics. Yeah, you may have had a strong opinion one way or another, but you kept you opinions about the nuns to yourself.
Back then there was no crime. None. Took me awhile to figure out criminals in general don't rob 8 year olds as the ROI isn't there.
Back then there was no LGBT. There was only LG but I thought that was short for Legos. Never could understand why people got so worked up or so threatened by how people feel and never will.
Three things I learned.
Kids are not born with any predisposition. They get it from those around them and I've been around some people with strong (stupid) opinions in my opinion.
Never back down from a fight that you believe in. Never did, never will.
Hats off to the men and women that joined the military to give everyone the right to freedom. The last season 1 episode ends on this so stay tuned.
