Vertically integrated cannabis company Sunniva’s (CSE: SNN) (OTCQX: SNNVF) wholly-owned subsidiary, Sunniva Medical Inc. (“SMI”), received a Confirmation of Readiness (“COR”) notification from Health Canada recently. Attaining the COR is a key step toward SMI receiving a license to produce. A recent article discussing the company reads: “The COR received by Sunniva Medical Inc. (SMI) was issued under new rules instituted in May 2017 by Health Canada under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR), which removed the necessity for a physical inspection of grow facilities prior to the issuance of a cultivation license. The new regime allows an applicant for a producer license to prove ‘their facility’s readiness in the form of data, photos, video, attestations from experts, etc.’, which, after review, can lead to the issue of a cultivation license. Designed to streamline the application process, the amended regulations do not remove the requirement for physical inspections entirely, but appear to place them on a scheduled timetable rather than before approval.”
