Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in my opinion DECN won't get to the traction people are waiting for until they add to their product stable. A product line of 3-4 products is 1000 times more valuable to a big box then a single product, no matter how good, how well placed, how well marketed the single product is.
Nipro, after their acquisition of HDI, and before their sale to Sinocare, was one such company. They had a well received single product called True Track, they had their own small niche, but they didn't gain market penetration (measured as 2% or more) until they came out with a line of True products and a new business model. They grew to 4.5% in 2014. And then they screwed it all up by betting on becoming the Medicare competitive bidding products of choice. They dropped their wholesale prices to $2.95 (and sometimes less) for a box of 50, and almost lost it all. Their total failure is given as one reason why Sinocare decided NOT to buy Lifescan from J&J.
DECN is about 120 days from that crossroads. I think late Fall, not August 15. I don't think they will make the same mistakes as HDI/Nipro. There is a lot less arrogance at DECN. The arrogance surrounding DECN comes from former shareholders.
We shall see.
