Gunman shoots journalists, Sean Hannity immediately blames Democrats
A gunman stormed into a the newsroom of The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, killing five and injuring more. Immediately as news of the attack broke, Sean Hannity blamed the shooting on Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Barack Obama.
Fox News looked into whether the local paper produced there had an "ideological bent."
Really, FUX News looking into an 'ideological bent'? If that justifies a shooting, then FAUX news need to armor up, lay out some claymores. Assholes.
Far-right message board users, echoing Trump's anti-journalist rhetoric, celebrated the shooting, saying that newspapers spread "fake news" and "leftist propaganda." One said that journalists deserve this for "lying with impunity." Another user even said that "hopefully they kill every ... journalist."
A host for NRA outlet NRATV said that more guns were needed in newsrooms to prevent similar shootings. For right-wing media, the problem is anything but guns.
The shooting occurred just two days after former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos called for "vigilante squads" to shoot journalists. Incredibly, Instagram at first deemed that statement permissible under its community guidelines before later reversing itself after a journalist inquired.
Watch this: Gazette journalist Selene San Felice spoke out just after the shooting: "Thanks for your prayers, but I couldn't give a fuck about them if there's nothing else."
