P results provide leverage and another deal opportunity. They also are required for any multi-drug deal that includes P (possibly the whole company). Only IPIX knows which is the sweetest deal on the table right now.
You don't want to give away 70%+ of a $10B/year P53 drug because you weren't patient enough to wait for results on a Psoriasis pill that could be sold for $500 million. Sell that Prurisol off and finance a few B phase 3s and several Kevetrin phase 2b trials. Enough of them succeed and you can sell your company for $10B+. That Prurisol deal would be enough to send the company to all-time highs. All my speculation but it makes sense to me.
One would think getting the top-line results would be relatively straight forward as it was last time. That hasn't proven to be the case this time around for whatever reason. I thought we would get results by mid-February with end of March being my conservative outlook. It is frustrating approaching the end of June with no report able progress. I'm hoping they can pull off a database lock this week...that at least gets the clock ticking on top line. I'm sure the boys in Beverly are doing all they can.
