USAF KC-46 (Replacement Tanker) Problems Continue.
Post# of 2306
As previously stated in my analytical posts, as a result of these ongoing issues, there will be no problem in Omega and $TMPS getting as many contracts as they care to bid for throughout many years ahead.
The KC-46 still has major issues with the Mission Systems Operator (MSO)'s video system for viewing the receiving aircraft. This will impact delivery dates.

Also, as previously reported, the legacy fleet of 1957-1963 built KC-135 tankers which are being upgraded as part of the overall tanker force plan will have to have a significant number of aircraft out of service for the upgrade program at any one time.
With the USN and USMC unable to meet their own requirements [for a variety of reasons that aren't being fixed either], any contractor that can provide "probe-and-drogue" refueling - without diverting USAF assets to do it - is likely to continue to have their arm bitten off with contracts estimated at about $30M per year.
Neither the ex-RAF Tristar tankers that $TMPS now have - or the RAF's new contractor owned / operated Voyager fleet [the aircraft the USAF could have had over 10 years ago] - have any problem with their MSO's video system !
