Larson Electronics Releases Class I, II, III Explosion Proof 60-minute Timer

KEMP, Texas, June 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larson Electronics, a Texas-based business that offers energy-efficient lighting systems and portable power distribution stations for the industrial sector, released an explosion proof timer for accurate time control in flammable environments. The compact, rotary timer is ideal for Class I (Groups C, D), II (Groups E, F, G) and III combustible sites.

The EXP-RT-DPST-MIN.60 offers a reliable method for timed controls in hazardous locations and facilities that handle volatile (combustible) materials. Equipped with a dual-pole single throw switch (DPST), operators can set preferred durations up to 60 minutes. The explosion proof device also caters to settings less than 60 minutes. Resetting before the end of the duration can be executed at any time during the countdown. This feature is useful for quick changes to workflows or minor updates to timed preferences. A rotary handle ensures seamless operation with visible numerical markings per block of 10 minutes.

The explosion proof timer is constructed using copper-free aluminum. The NEMA-rated enclosure protects the device from moisture, debris and corrosion. Mounting is facilitated by external mounting lugs on the body of the timer. This unit is offered with 1/2” NPT or 3/4” NPT hubs, as well as dead-end or feed-through configurations. A visible ‘Do Not Overturn’ cautionary sign at the front of the unit prevents incorrect usage.

Applications for the 60-minute explosion proof timer includes: manufacturing, warehouses, food processing, machining, wet areas, marine sites, shipyards, aerospace, paint spray booths, automotive garages/repair and more.

Larson Electronics offers the EXP-RT-DPST-MIN.60 in stock and ready to ship upon purchase and order processing, which caters to businesses with tight deadlines and timely project requirements. Orders for this timer are not subject to extended lead times associated with other manufacturers (typically 12-16 weeks).
