Long Post for Investors: S1E6 redflix As I ment
Post# of 32635
As I mentioned in a previous episode of redflix I was talking to Jeff and then switch gears and started chatting with Rory across the table. The tables were relatively narrow so it wasn't like I was 10 feet away. There was a lot of conversation about Oracle obviously.
There was the dicussion on Oracle VP's told to come by to the nFusz booth as it's something they need to check out in person. I mentioned the training VP was there who was really interested in nFusz. I'll post an example about training ROI in the next day or two that will blow peoples minds.
We talked about notifID quite a bit. Rory said that is the solution that will drive a lot of notifiCRM sales. Until he said that, I honestly was thinking the other way around. Now that I think of it, in the SaaS world, you give away something free or at a very low cost to later upsell customers once they get familiar with the value proposition.
The notifID conversation always leads to linkedin and I couldn't hold back. "Wow Rory, this would be perfect for Linkedin". In my 15 minute conversation with Rory on the floor of the Netsuite convention and my bring up Microsoft again at dinner I got what has to be my favorite reaction.
Keep in mind I am silent sam, I am. Thanks grandma! The master of the unspoken and a nice egg and ham. It's not about what is said. It's about what not is said. Unless you are there in person, that art does not work for you and does not translate to a mb or a broker. It's why I took the trip.
For anyone that meets Rory, here's a tip. Shut up. Just shut the hell up. Pull your best silent sam. Even I did too much talking because I was jacked pumped (not a real word but another investor uses it). Let him do the talking.
I brought up to Rory did you ever consider creating a consulting arm of nFusz. Many years ago Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, etc. didn't want to touch it and would bring in a lot of partners to get their solutions out there. In the last 5 years, they finally figured they could make a bundle taking it back in house.
I know the amount of revenue that can be made on the consulting side and its sometimes even higher than the software sales side of the equation. Rory said no. That's not the direction they are going. He didn't even leave me down gently. "Wow redspeed, that's a great idea and we'll do that in the near future". It was no, (you dope).
Natural Treasure (or as I like to call him National Treasure because that is who he really is) brought up the idea of a Concierge Service to help new customers create the interactivity in their videos. I think Rory said they thought about that or were actually working on that, but they really like the name NT came up with. In one of the most recent updates you can hear "Concierge Service" mentioned. It's a good example of a CEO listening.
I admit, I am probably 3 years too soon about the comsulting services, but I can see this bringing millions on the services side once this goes viral.
Rory was an open book that night but wouldn't talk about things like Microsoft. At the end of the night Maui asked Rory what could we share back to the messageboards. I think we all fell over when Rory said, "Everything, Share Everthing". This is total transparency. He's the guy you see on the SHAC.
On one hand we (maybe me) felt we just heard so much stuff. On the other hand, everything that was said that night was already heard in the weekly SHACS and CEO Money interviews. It's just totally different hearing it face to face, eye to eye.
That was day one. I forget the time I walked back to the hotel but I was up for hours after that experience and it was late. Maybe 2PM before I got to bed. Maui was text me that night/morning so I couldn't sleep
There is a day two if anyone wants to hear it.
