J&J never had a reputation for highest precision. It has always been their Cadillac vs. everyone's Mercedes. I am surprised at the results for the Arkray product. So surprised that I do not believe them. Arkray makes a solid but unspectacular 2nd generation GDH product line. In fact as a Japanese company, it is surprising that Arkray doesn't make their own products, they farm the manufacturing out to Korea, the home of 2nd generation bland products.
I also will hedge here and say that I don't believe the results for the Lifescan Verio. Verio is a test strip where the current is measured through gold substrate, and the change in current is measured by resistance through Paladium. Paladium where Platinum just wasn't good enough.
So, my gut tells me that Walmart paid for the study. Just a guess, but they seem to have received exactly the results they paid for.
