USMC F-35Bs will also operate from the new UK state-of-the-art F-35B optimized carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.
This may generate yet more "probe-and-drogue" refueling requirements to enable the USMC jets to join the ship - some of which may be contracted out.
First USMC operational deployment on the UK flagship is planned for 2019.
