SANTA BARBARA, Calif., June 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RightScale® Inc., a demonstrated leader in enterprise Cloud Management and Cost Optimization, today announced that Forrester Research named RightScale a Leader in two different cloud reports. RightScale CMP was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Hybrid Cloud Management 1 and RightScale Optima was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization 2 .
The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management In the hybrid cloud management report, Forrester evaluated 12 vendors. RightScale had the highest score across all vendors in both the current offering (with a score of 4.43 out of 5) and strategy (with a score of 4.4 out of 5) categories. The criteria are grouped into three sections: current offering, strategy, and market presence. These categories encompass several more specific criteria, including cloud platform resources supported; automation and orchestration; cloud service administration and governance, cloud optimization; integrations and APIs; support services; product vision; execution roadmap; market approach; partner ecosystem; commercial model; number of customers; product revenue; and average deal size.
Forrester notes in the Hybrid Cloud Management report, “RightScale focuses solely on HCM solutions and was first to market in the space. RightScale Cloud Management Platform’s strong native capabilities supplement configuration tooling, templates, or developer experience with preferred third-party options. RightScale’s strengths include a long list of discoverable options, depth of permissions and governance policies, a template designer and broad template library, cost and performance monitoring, API documentation, and customer experience. The Forrester Wave: Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization In the Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization report, Forrester evaluated nine vendors on their cloud cost monitoring and optimization solutions for enterprises. RightScale had the highest current offering score of all the vendors with a score of 4.84 out of 5 and the second highest strategy score of 4.3 out of 5. The criteria is grouped into three sections: current offering, strategy, and market presence. These buckets encompass several more specific criteria, including cloud platform resources supported; cloud service administration and governance; cloud monitoring; cost optimization; support services; platform experience and SLAs; integrations and APIs; product vision; market approach; partner ecosystem; commercial model; number of customers; product revenue; and market share.
Forrester notes in the Cloud Cost Monitoring and Optimization report, “In 2017, RightScale carved out the cost management and governance features of its hybrid cloud management tool into a tool named Optima that can be purchased separately from the full cloud management platform. Similar to the full product, Optima’s governance features are built around a strong policy engine that will automate a wide range of infrastructure asset scheduling and life-cycle management activities. In addition, Optima supports robust cost scenario analysis and forecasting capabilities. Going forward, Optima will continue to extend existing capabilities to all platforms supported as well as simplify policy creation and automation activities.”
