Just briefed USCG Station Commander This was a follow-up to last year's initial briefing. As his exec, a CWO, was new on station a quick review of the Russian GRU hacking of military I-Phones was in order (with documentation). Briefing continued with: 1.) POTUS policy letter which stated: We must grow and modernize our military forces including space and cyber capabilities to ensure our military power is second to none." 2.) Reply from Chairman, Senate Committee on Intelligence, Senator Richard Burr. He wrote " I recognize the gravity of the ongoing threat of cyber warfare and work daily to find ways in which we can better prepare to handle this threat" 3.) The evidence of his pledge, the 5/31 McAfee PR "Pentagon to Install McAfee Software Worldwide in $550M Deal". The Commander and his exec were pleased to read in that PR that it includes "Coast Guard activities worldwide". I was thanked for my briefing and informed my info would be forwarded to USCG District HQ as it was last year.
