yes-over 3000-the Chinese govt is trying to get some of the smaller mills to consolidate w larger mills. Only bingo knows but 1 of the 1st 2 ships-the only ships we know about-may have had multiple orders for multiple small buyers. But the bidding process I assume was a headache-having 1 buyer for most of the main products and known specs ahead of time would greatly simplify logistics.
Various emails have told us that orders 3-5 have been paid for - ca 36k tons and 24 k tons paid for in Dec -before order 4 even trucked to my knowledge-so I dont know what buyer other than Bao would do that.
In fall 2010 they originally were going to ship the 1-3mm fines in heavy bags- 3 per container-for environmental compliance (dust) reasons. So when I was literally shocked to hear they may be shipping trommel processed ore soon I wondered whether they would ship that in containers because it may have to be bagged -as it is much smaller particles than the 1-3mm. And how do you load or retrieve bags without containers? I'm not in the loading or shipping business.
Shocked re possible shipping of trommel processed product because 1) to my knowledge orders 3-5--80k tons were still at dock-they were as of independent pics ca Mar 20-and no mention of shipping in Apr 13 PR-and why was I repeatedly holding the tide against bashers on that issue (nobody knows if those 80 k tons were shipped -everybody's assumption has been its still at dock -so sb keeps claiming Mexico shut down all exports) if it was shipped
and 2)so far shipping has been the biggest headache of the process to our knowledge-lining up a ship has been like 32 root canals and open heart/lung surgery combined and 3) I assume the product has to be all processed before you can order a ship-due to possible processing interruptions-and in the past that has taken months-otherwise you have a ship before the ore is at dock or it is cancelled if there are interruptions
