Mark is just sticking with his announced plan to PR ONLY direct (non-channeled) deals and only after the revenue comes. He just isn't allowing himself to pre-announce the revenue stream(s) via a person-to-person communication. He's sticking to his conservative approach, which is refreshing these days.
However, it would have been nice to hear something more positive, but I can wait.
On the infamous '8 million', that goes back to an old post on the other board in which he allegedly replied to someone's remark about the value of his main patent that he wouldn't sell it for less than 8 million. The implied context was just the patent, not the whole company, but I never took it to be a serious valuation. It was just an exaggerated way of saying the patent was worth a lot more than the other person had implied. In my opinion the remark has taken on an unintended life of its own. I suspect Mark regrets letting his conservative guard down for that brief moment. I have no idea what the company is worth, but it's worth more now than two years ago.
