With the input and involvement of global transportation and logistics companies, JAGGAER developed a new tool to support end-to-end logistics optimization, analyzing several critical and dynamic variables. The tool enables the assessment of multiple legs in a transportation scenario: land, sea, air and rail, to determine the most efficient model, from source to destination. Variables assessed include risk and reliability of services providers, total cost, scheduling availability, tax and tariff, and capacity planning. The tool also includes multiple award scenarios, backup, and advanced cost modeling.
The need for the tool’s capabilities are borne out by current trends in the supply chain, economy and transportation industry. “The Institute for Supply Management ® reported in May 2018* that its Backlog of Orders Index grew from April to May, now at its highest point in 20 years.
