$EXC $MDR NET Power says it successfully started its experimental natural gas power plant in La Porte, Tex., that generates no air pollution and requires no expensive or efficiency-reducing carbon capture equipment.
The test project uses new technology that sends carbon dioxide into a separate pipeline for storage or sale to industrial users.
NET Power - a collaboration between Exelon (NYSE:EXC), McDermott (NYSE:MDR) and 8 Rivers Capital - hoping to sell and build more of the 300 MW commercial-scale plants starting in 2021.
