I was in Best Buy yesterday and wondered over to look at Q-Dot TVs, all Samsung. The head sales person was excited about the version eight I was looking at, and regretted that version nine was not available to look at because the blacks are even richer; also less light leakage from the perimeter of the back light. I remarked how this isn't yet a true quantum dot TV because of the back light. This didn't phase her, and she remarked that there are rumors that Samsung will be coming out with a true Q-Dot TV with no backlight later this year or perhaps the first of next year. I expressed surprise because I didn't realize it was happening to soon.
