Trump 'Convinced Democratic Party to Completely Destroy Itself'

< >

Tucker Carlson said something "transformative" has happened to the Democratic Party since Donald Trump was elected president.

Carlson said that Democrats erupted in a "primal scream" after his election and "have not stopped yelling."

He said "everything" changed on the left after November 2016: celebrities threatened to leave the country, journalists became "rigid propagandists" and comedians "lost their sense of humor."

Carlson said that most recently, "deeply unfunny" comedian Samantha Bee of TBS called Ivanka Trump the c-word, calling the bit a "dumb person's political harangue masquerading as comedy."

He said comedian Kathy Griffin referred to White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders as a "b***h" and that even politicians have become increasingly vulgar.

Carlson said that gone are the days where "center-left" voices like former Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and current House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland were in the mainstream of the party.

He said more focus has been brought on New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who has used the f-word repeatedly in speeches about Trump.

"F*** no," Gillibrand said at a recent address when asking rhetorically if Trump will keep his promises.

"They shout profanity on TV and at campaign events," Carlson said, adding that Trump "convinced the Democratic Party to completely destroy itself."
