Pharmacologist Warns Parents of the Damaging Side

CLEARWATER, Fla., May 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Florida chapter of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), a mental health watchdog group co-founded by the Church of Scientology and psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz, is hosting a series of seminars on the fourth Saturday of each month on how psychotropic drugs affect children.  The seminars will start on the 26 ^th of May and are being held in CCHR Florida’s headquarters located at 109 N. Fort Harrison Avenue, downtown Clearwater.  The seminars are free of charge and open to the public. 

The featured speaker for May’s seminar, entitled, “Exposing the Lies Behind today's Drugging of Children”, Pamela Seefeld, has been a practicing pharmacologist and consultant for over 25 years and is an expert on botanical resources and natural supplements.

“It is vital that parents are educated on the dangers of psychotropic drugs when they are prescribed to their children,” said Ms. Diane Stein, President of CCHR Florida. “It is important for families to know that the side effects of some of these drugs include aggression and suicide.”

Adverse effects of psychotropic medication on children have been the subject of research and reports for many years, yet almost 8.5 million US schoolchildren are taking these drugs, according to data from the IMS Health Vector One National Database Year 2013. [1]

This is especially concerning when it is taken into account, as reported in a Denver Post article by Dr. Mercola, that drug companies have paid billions of dollars in fines for illegally marketing psychiatric drugs to children. Dr. Mercola also points out that behavior problems in children are very frequently related to improper diet, emotional upset and exposure to toxins. [2]
