PCL Construction Welcomes Dale Koger and Gary Birdsall to Lead PCL’s Sports Division

Denver, CO, May 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to welcome Dale Koger, vice president and general manager, PCL Sports Division, and Gary Birdsall, vice president, PCL Sports Division to grow the organization’s sports capabilities and portfolio. “We are excited to have two of the most experienced and recognizable professionals in the sports construction industry join our organization,” said Deron Brown, president, US Buildings.

Dale Koger has more than 40 years of experience and has provided leadership on more than $20 billion in sports facilities, including Los Angeles’ new stadium for the Rams and the Chargers, Lincoln Financial Field, Amway Center, Madison Square Garden, and the University of Miami Watsco Center to name a few. Dale will provide business planning, strategic initiatives, staff recruitment, and oversight of preplanning, preconstruction, and construction-phase services for all major sports facility projects.

“I’m excited to be a part of such a fine organization as PCL Construction, and continuing the pursuit and successful execution of sports venue projects,” said Koger. “PCL is a very reputable company known for their strong culture, collaborative approach to projects, and the depth and breadth of their people.”

Gary Birdsall has 32 years of extensive construction-related sports experience, having provided professional services on more than 20 major sports projects, including Levi’s Stadium, Golden 1 Center, Yankee Stadium, University of Washington Husky Stadium, Petco Park, and most recently the Banc of California Stadium for the Los Angeles Football Club to name a few. He also has abundant experience in convention centers and Olympic facilities. Gary has worked closely with Dale for over two decades. “Having worked as a construction manager and as an owner’s representative, I’ve seen firsthand the value that PCL has brought to the table through their collaborative approach to projects,” said Birdsall. “PCL is an excellent fit for Dale and me as evidenced by their keen focus on exceeding owners’ expectations.”

Dale and Gary have worked as a team on over $6 billion in sports facilities over the past four years. Their experience and vast knowledge of the sports marketplace offers PCL an owner’s viewpoint, resulting in optimal return on the owner’s investment in sports projects.

Over the past 25 years, PCL Construction has built some of the most iconic and recognizable sports facilities and currently ranks in the top five sports builders in North America. The addition of Dale and Gary positions PCL to enhance and grow the organization’s level of service in the sports industry.
