Anti-Sanctuary CA Lawmakers to Meet With Trump
< >
A number of California lawmakers opposed to the state's sanctuary policy are meeting with President Trump on Wednesday to discuss the heavily debated law and illegal immigration.
Los Alamitos Mayor Troy Edgar (R) said that there are many citizens in California that want "the rule of law."
"They want us -- as their city council members -- to uphold the Constitution and work with the U.S. immigration officials," he said on "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday.
Los Alamitos was the first city to vote against the state's sanctuary law, which limits cooperation on the local level with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

The sanctuary law is strongly supported by Gov. Jerry Brown (D) and State Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D).
Multiple California cities and counties have opposed Senate Bill 54, which was signed into law by Brown in October 2017.
"We're really connected to the people, and I think Sacramento just seems really out of touch on this," Edgar said.
