SAN FRANCISCO, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For 130 years Swinerton has cemented its place as one of America’s most trusted builders. As the company celebrates its historic anniversary and legacy this month, it has introduced a new brand identity , as well as changes to The Swinerton Foundation.
Earlier this year, Swinerton announced the company would undergo a rebranding and unveiled its new logo. While the logo remained true to Swinerton’s roots and history, it evolved to visually showcase the company’s outside the box thinking, symbolically represent Swinerton’s forward-thinking and driven nature, and shift from Swinerton Builders to Swinerton to highlight the company’s limitless future.
“Swinerton has spent the last 130 years building some of the most iconic buildings in America and becoming synonymous with integrity, leadership, passion, and excellence,” said Jeff Hoopes, Swinerton Chairman and CEO. “We are a company steeped in tradition, but one that’s also looking towards the future.”
The new company name and logo have begun appearing at all Swinerton job sites. Iconic projects such as the Oceanwide Center in San Francisco, Grey Hawk Solar in Arizona, First Tech Federal Credit Union’s new mass timber headquarters in Portland, Viega USA’s new mass timber office building in Denver, the Anaheim Ducks’ new training facility at the Great Park Ice & Sports Complex, and the Los Angeles LGBT Center Anita May Rosenstein Campus all showcase Swinerton’s new brand identity.
The company will also focus on communicating its brand promise “Pride of ownership. Peace of mind.” to reflect Swinerton’s 100% employee-owned structure, which provides an unparalleled personal commitment to quality of work.
The rebranding stemmed from the need for a more consistent presence as Swinerton has expanded nationally and become one of the nation’s largest commercial construction companies. Founded on May 22, 1888, the San Francisco-based company is already a staple of the construction industry in the West; Swinerton has most recently experienced a surge of growth in the Southeastern United States, including markets such as Atlanta and Charlotte. In addition to growing geographically, Swinerton has expanded their services as well. What started as a brick masonry and contracting company 130 years ago now boasts technical expertise in mass timber, seismic retrofits, and prefabricated technology, and serves clients in aviation, healthcare, education, and renewable energy. This expanded portfolio of offerings is what prompted the company to change its name from Swinerton Builders to Swinerton.
“Swinerton has continuously evolved to remain relevant in an ever-changing industry and we’ll continue to do so to ensure we’re a valued partner for every project and client,” said Hoopes.
Beyond its geographical and portfolio growth, Swinerton has also expanded its charitable footprint. The Swinerton Foundation was formed in 2002 to act as the charitable arm of the Swinerton company for which all charitable giving would be centralized or guided through. In 2018, the company’s 130th anniversary year, the Foundation’s Board of Directors adopted a new mission, new focus areas, and made the transition from a private to a public non-profit organization. The foundation’s focus on equitable education, resilient communities and sustainable workface development aims to provide a broader geographic reach and stronger community impact across the United States.
About Swinerton Swinerton provides commercial construction and construction management services throughout the United States and is a 100% employee-owned company. Recognized nationally since 1888, Swinerton is the preferred builder and trusted partner in every market it serves—proudly leading with integrity, passion, and excellence.
