SAN RAMON, Calif., May 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Armanino LLP, one of the top 25 largest accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., announced today a list of charitable organizations selected to be Q1 2018 beneficiaries of grants sponsored by its charitable giving arm, the Armanino Foundation . These charitable organizations in education, health and social services and animal welfare are nominated by firm employees and selected by a committee of the firm. Since its kick off 18 months ago, the Foundation has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for worthy charities and emergency disaster relief in Armanino’s communities.
“We are excited to announce the first round of grant recipients for 2018, which are a diverse group of worthy organizations nominated and selected by our staff,” said Andy Armanino, managing partner of Armanino LLP. “The Armanino Foundation is an extension of our values as a firm that allows us to give back to organizations that make a positive impact on our communities.”
The Q1 grants kick off a year of giving and service projects, as the Armanino Foundation will sponsor volunteer vacations for firm staff. Volunteers will travel to Hawaii, Kissimmee, Florida and Houston to work on a range of community projects including environmental cleanup, disaster recovery homebuilding and staffing a resort for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Armanino’s firm culture is community-based, and the firm has responded by creating ways to facilitate and support opportunities for employees and partners to engage in charitable activities and with one another. Volunteer Vacations is a unique program allowing employees the opportunity to be sponsored to travel and volunteer all over the country and internationally in a formalized and structured way, ensuring the firm can engage employees and partners with worthy charitable organizations and make an impact on its communities in perpetuity. The program has received high marks and participation from Armanino’s employee base.
The foundation is directed by a board and committee of 17 members from across the firm. Its chair, Mary Tressel, director of consulting marketing at Armanino, oversees grant administration, volunteer vacation operations and bylaws.
