Mawer Investment Management Ltd. appoints Craig Se

CALGARY, Alberta, May 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mawer Investment Management Ltd. announced today that Craig Senyk, CFA, will assume the role of President effective January 1, 2019. His appointment will follow the December 31, 2018 retirement of Mawer’s current President, Michael Mezei, who has held the position since joining the firm in 2008. Messrs. Senyk and Mezei will work closely over the balance of the year to ensure a smooth transition of the role, and Mr. Mezei will continue to serve on the firm’s Board of Directors through 2019.     

Mr. Senyk has been with the firm for over 20 years and has held numerous roles, including the leadership of the Institutional and Individual client business segments. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Board, Institutional Portfolio Manager, and Co-Manager of the Mawer Tax Effective Balanced Fund. Additionally, he is a member of the firm’s Risk Management Committee and Ownership Oversight Committee.

Mr. Senyk has investment experience since 1996 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder. Along with his wife, Cara, he hosts the annual Jamboree for Charity which has raised over $700,000 for community based charities since it’s inception in 2013. He is also Vice Chair of the Board for Theatre Calgary and a member of the CFA Institute.
