LOL, yes Washington has become a circus under Trum

On topic, I read in the days of Andrew Jackson, and Aaron Burr and other famous duelers in the rarely 1800's, The main reason was politics. I'd of thought women was right behind that. Politicians did learn that the circus was a nice distraction from the political scene, sports replaced the circus. I feel sports, especially pro sports is beyond "Tribal instincts". Sports does now make huge money for radio, TV and newspapers, oh yes, sports magazines. In 1982 When the Metrodome was built, for $50,000,000, lol. , the major paper, The Minneapolis Tribune donated the land. The Vikes' threatened to leave if they did not get a new stadium.
At the Metrodome, the Vikings, Twins and U of M football played there. Each has it's own stadium now.
1. Vikings $975,000,000, Vikings paid half.
2. Twins $522, 000,000, of which the Twins paid $130 mil
3. Gophers $288,500,000
4. Total taxpayer money $1,168,000,000
The COST OF LIVING CALCULATOR shows 257% increase in these years, sounds low to me. But it shows how wacko sports is now. The stadiums have mostly minimum wage extremely part time jobs. Spending the money to entice major corporation to move here would have provided tons of full time jobs. But if the sports teams left, the media would have suffered, poor guys. What is bizarre is that you can see the Vikings stadium from the University of Minnesota. The U was not going to leave if they did not get a stadium, but they got one anyway. Oh well.
