So true! I agree 100% with that. It's solid fact. Not only do you have the genuinely naïve doing harm unknowingly (even to themselves), but you also have the trolls who've learned to mimic the naïve traders and, as Mauibound said, the good and meaningful posts get lost in a sea of BS laden foolishness.
I've used the same tactic you speak of with decent success. It's not 100%, and mods must use caution so as to not over stress admin with the whining of the "unjustly" stifled, but it does keep a board in the range desired by true investors, which I believe is the reason for single-stock message boards in the first pace.
There are plenty of excellent swing/momentum/day trading boards available on the Hangout, so no need for flippers to pollute single-stock message boards. Plucking the weeds of inaccurate posts and intentional misinformation is supported here. It's what sets the Hangout apart from the rest, and why more and more investors are migrating here. Gotta flush once in a while or get overrun with poo. lol
