But, DD apps are not mandatory to prevent/avoid accidents while driving at far greater speeds and without having our eyes focused on the road in front of us.
We have data that estimates close to 10 people a day lost their lives to distracted driving in 2015 and I think we can assume those data may be a little stale at 2-3 years old. I can't imagine that 10 people a day lose their lives due to accidents at low speeds in reverse. Costs could easily be comparable for DD apps vs rear cameras. A good team effort of: HEXA & car companies & phone companies & insurance companies & legislative groups (& maybe AMZN and/or GOOG) could make this happen fast and help save 10+ lives a day in USA and far more in the rest of the world.
