Americans 'Need Asylum From Politicians Who Got Us Into This Mess'

Laura Ingraham said Tuesday that U.S. aid to poor Central American countries is "subsidizing the lawlessness," as migrants from those nations seek asylum in the U.S.
In her "Angle" monologue, she suggested cutting back on the money provided to countries like Honduras, Mexico and El Salvador until they tame their own corruption and "start improving the lives of their own people."
"If you ask me, it's the American people who need asylum these days. Asylum from the politicians who got us into this mess in the first place," she added.
Ingraham said that the resulting "border-busting and asylum fraud" need to stop.
"[It] is an insult to every American taxpayer, every legal immigrant, our rule of law and our sovereignty."
Ingraham also said that remittances -- the money sent by migrant laborers from the U.S. back to their home countries -- are "massive and growing."
She tabbed remittances as a "huge economic boon" to poor countries from which migrants are fleeing, and that they are incentivizing immigrants to head to the United States.
"Why would any third-world nation focus on solving problems at home, when it's so much easier to export their neediest to the United States and at the same time ... benefit from their remittances? This is just madness," she said.
