There was some mention of some extended (&/or new for solar & such) agreements with Rice dated sometime in March 2018, that someone pointed out on the other board. I don't know the full extent of that, nor have I tried to find out. QMC has chosen to primarily focus on their Cad-free Bayer patents portfolio technologies, but I may have over-stated when I quoted about QMC "dropping the TQD patent rights"...as far as I know the only Rice patent rights that QMC licensed was for Wongs' process for making Cad-based TQD's...so, where we stand now & where we go from here is beyond my knowledge. The actual wording from the 10K reads as follows:
"In February 2018, the Company re-evaluated the Rice Technology and the business case and determined that it was highly unlikely that the Company would be using the cadmium-based Rice technology. The Company’s substantial advancement of cadmium free dots coupled with the high volume, low cost flow technology purchased from Bayer Advanced Materials and further developed by the Company has resulted in the obsolescence of the Rice Technology. The final decision not to continue with the Rice license was driven largely by concerns that the Rice royalties could unduly burden the cost of the Company’s quantum dot products."
