Q: Oracle is a large product, development and service company with a $186B market cap and $38B in revenues. With all their money and resources, why wouldn't they develop something similar?
A: For the last year they've been hiring like gangbusters. They have 1,619 sales openings right now only topped by 1,797 in product development.
That potentially is $250M in product development new hires and another $250M in sales new hires per year.
That's 1/2 a billion $ in new hires. It is a lot faster to partner with an existing company than to try to hiring even more to create a new solution from scratch.
Oracle has 40,000 developers and engineers. I believe Rory said this in a SHAC update. If this was simple to do, they would have done it themselves.
Keep in mind Rory said Oracle has 2,000 sales people I believe but they have 1,944 sales openings RIGHT NOW! That number has gone up by over 300 in the last few months. That's a lot of sales people. That's a lot of sales training needed.
