This was important news today. It is a broad hint that things are ready to go in a big way.
The next Brilacidin-OM trial, using little packets of powder that people will mix themselves to make the rinse, is extremely important. By the standards of clinical trials, it will be a fast one. If the results are about what the previous trial indicated (which would be expected), then it's possible that the FDA would expedite the process. It WOULD be a breakthrough therapy, since there is nothing that works on OM.
If they are to the point of MANUFACTURING it, it means that they have figured out how to formulate this. This is major news and a huge step forward.
If they can distribute packets instead of pre-mixed liquid, it will be tremendously cheaper for the company, It will be way easier for pharmacies to store, and it will be very convenient for the patients. They can take a sachet with them if they're going out, and stay on the dosing schedule, instead of having to deal with carrying a liquid around.
