Ramsey, re Samsung QDTV are a hit.
Facebook now accusing Google and Twitter of same mining and targeting practices.
Samsung is in emailed newsletters I get, in ads, articles, reviews daily.
Social media is a really big part of their marketing and advertising.
They are still buying market share. They have the first to market advantage so they are odds on to be most successful, barring a tech advance or competitors' price drop they don't see coming, but cost of materials and manufacture, along with marketing must be limiting their profits right now. The ending of the story is not writ yet. China still predicted to overtake S Korea in display manufacture soon if not yet. They are a huge company so this area is only a small part of their overall strategy, no doubt.
OAS, I sold retail electronics once upon a time, and many sales are made relying on the salesman's opinion, who can be very persuasive when bonuses and spiffs are used to motivate their recommendations. Those were the days~!
