And, when people know that something works, they are more likely to follow the regimen closely than they are when they're in a clinical trial and they don't know whether they have the drug or the placebo.
I think that doctors probably don't really tell chemo/radiation patients in advance about the magnitude of the oral mucositis pain and suffering, because there's nothing they can do about it. But, when people are told by their doctors, "You MUST be diligent in using this Brilacidin rinse, or else you will probably get this awful condition" -- and then show them pictures of it -- your compliance rate is going to be really good. It may actually be MORE effective than what this clinical trial showed, when people are careful to use it on schedule every day. It wouldn't surprise me if Phase 3 results are better even than the current results.
