World’s Biggest Supplier of MMJ ? Yes, this is the goal for the Australian government - the news came out 3 weeks ago, I found out on YouTube yesterday.
Today Canada is the leading exporter of a few countries allowed to export Medical marijuana. Since Australia has a long special relation with them (trade and historywise) - they are both in the Commonwealth Countries Group - the Aussies want to catch up and now start implement the same regulatory framework as Canada.
Considering the Australian state Government is very active in getting regulatory framework in place, this might be possible. Canadians come to a delay now and will have to wait at least to september. One major advantage Australia has, is that the opposition against MMJ is not near as hard there, as it is in some states in US and parts of Mr
Trumps government.

Another advantage is with the Australian pot-stocks, they are generally valued lower then it`s peers in US and Canada. This means it can be like in US 2014... when pot-stocks went KABOOM ! in the United States of America.
