Larson Electronics LLC Releases Explosion Proof Bug Eye Emergency Halogen Lighting System

KEMP, Texas, April 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, announced the release of a Class I Division 2 explosion proof 50 Hz emergency lighting unit that features a sealed lead acid battery backup and dual halogen lamp heads. This 16W emergency lighting unit is designed to withstand harsh conditions within hazardous locations such as extraction rooms, chemical plants and warehouses.

The HAL-EMG-12W-2LH-50Hz from Larson Electronics is a 50Hz explosion proof bug eye emergency halogen light system rated for Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations as well as Class I Zone 2 IIA, IIB and IIC classified areas. This system includes two 8-watt halogen bug eye lamps and a maintenance free sealed lead acid battery with a built-in two-stage charger. The dual halogen emergency lights are weatherproof Par36 style heads housed inside high impact thermoplastic with a neutral gray outer finish. Each lamp head is adjustable for precise positioning and has a locking collar that securely holds the lens in place.

Sealed lead acid battery provides a runtime of at least 90 minutes and has a two-stage charger with float control and low voltage disconnect to protect the battery from damage when voltage drops too low. The charger also includes brownout and short circuit protection in case of electrical failure and has a 24-hour recharge time. This emergency light also features an LED status indicator light and a magnetic test switch and a front access panel that makes it easy for operators to install and perform maintenance. The HAL-EMG-12W-2LH-50Hz operates on 120-277V AC and is designed for surface wall mounting via four stainless steel mounting feet.

“If you need failsafe emergency lighting, this system is a great option,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The halogen bug eyes and protected battery provide ample light for a considerable amount of time during emergencies. Not to mention the unit is reliable, fully sealed against the intrusion of dust and water with a NEMA 4X rating and tough construction.”
