CAREERS
We are a fast-growing publicly listed high technology company and we offer extremely competitive employment packages. Our team is composed of world-class technologists. Our materials scientists synthesize new polymer materials to technical specifications driven by photonic device engineers who are creating a polymer PIC platform for the datacenter and high performance computing markets in fiber communications. We are also implementing our technology into non-communication markets.
Our current job openings are listed below, but if you feel that you are truly world-class, you have the right experience base, and you believe you can add value to our technology platform (as seen from the photonics product roadmap webpage) then please feel free to submit your resume to: resumes@lightwavelogic.com. If you decide to submit your resume, please also write a short (less than 1 page) cover letter with a couple of succinct reasons why you should be considered to join our world-class team. Our entrance hurdle is high, but not impossible should you have the experience and skill base to assist us in becoming the leading polymer photonic PIC technology player in the world.

Lightwave Logic (LWLG) is a public material and device development company that is commercializing its leading Organic Nonlinear Polymers for a variety of electro-optic devices that will be part of our polymer PIC platform. The primary applications for our polymer PIC platform will in high-speed fiber-optic telecom and data communications. Our development roadmap focuses on addressing 100Gbps opportunities using 25Gbps polymer modulators, and 400Gbps opportunities using 50Gbps modulators. We will be advancing our modulator performance to data rates beyond 50Gbps. Our materials and devices are extendable into other applications, including sensing, IoT, defense, and consumer markets. We are seeking a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) design engineer to work in our facility in Englewood, CO (as part of the Denver Tech Center). Lightwave offers competitive compensation and benefits along with a fast-paced working environment. Lightwave Logic is seeking an experienced PIC engineer with either III-V compound semiconductor and/or Silicon Photonics experience to enhance the company's activities in developing our polymer PIC platform. This position requires hands-on experience in the design of PIC circuits (using at least typical commercial software tools) and demonstrated fabrication and testing of the PIC circuits. Experience in data rates above 10Gbps would be needed. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and qualification of our polymer PIC platform.
Specific duties will include:
Design and modeling of PIC platform and the associated active and passive devices (experience with designing InP DFB lasers is required)
Familiarity of III-V compound semiconductors and silicon based material systems
Fabrication and testing of PICs with associated statistical analysis of results and performance
Design of polymers and key characteristics
Basic optical high speed characterization skills e.g. optical loss, optical modal properties and other passive/active characteristics of electro-optical polymer devices as well as inorganic III-V and silicon devices.
Designing devices from low frequencies to multi-GHz (10-100 GHz) to be integrated onto our polymer PIC platform.
Working effectively as part of an inter-disciplinary engineering team that includes device designers, micro-fabrication engineers, packaging and test engineers and technicians.
Experience and Education Requirements:
Minimum B.S. or M.S. (preferably PhD) in a relevant field, preferably physics, or electrical or optical engineering.
Post graduate experience in designing, modeling, and simulation of high-speed photonic devices as part of a PIC platform. A plus would be a solid background in III-V and/or silicon photonic PIC platforms and experience using commercial PIC design software tools.
Three to five years' experience working in PIC based development and design environment. A plus would be experience in a commercial advanced development and manufacturing environment where PIC platforms have been productized.
Demonstrated technical innovation and experience in related disciplines such as multi-GHz photonic device evaluation and data analysis. A plus would be experience in coherent and tunable designs with control of intensity, polarization, and phase to high speed digital signaling.
