That claim, that people could magically get extra drugs to treat placebo group patients, is total FUD. No professional running a clinical trial would do that out of "concern" for a patient -- they'd be risking their job and career. They also know that indeed if they magically found a secret supply of extra drug and gave it to the person, in the long run they'd hurt many more people because the drug might not get approved. I could go on and on, but..
This is the most pernicious kind of FUD, trying to make it sound like clinical trials are scams and fakes, and trying to shed doubt on the whole process.
Those who, like me, know who this is that said this balderdash also know that this is an identity, one of many, that has spread plenty of FUD in the past.
