In round numbers that's 30,000,000 x 50 x $1.00 = $1,500,000,000 in sales per year. Seems like it would be a bad business decision to buy Lifescan and stop selling OneTouch. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that there is essentially no other reason to buy Lifescan than to get the OneTouch line.
Over the last 6 years that is roughly $9,000,000,000 ($9 billion) of infringing sales. Even DECN's requested $700 million is less than 8% of the Johnson's sales. Seems like a reasonable price to pay to enable divestiture of a "small" division.
