Let's say MMs know 10K shares are available as stop-loss at 45 cents. If there are 10K shares of buy orders at 45 cents, the MMs are more likely to take the price down to fill those orders. However, if there are little or no buy orders at 45 cents, the MMs are less likely to do so.
