The y do have hubris. Like you I question why and then after reflection come to the conclusion "because they can." They need a monstrous ass kicking and hopefully IPIX is going to give it to them. I also think the shorts were in so deep and couldn't get out they resorted to Mako, the class action, etc. none of which worked thanks to our having savvy management and loyal shareholders who believed in the science.
