'Breathtaking' That You Give Trump No Credit on N. Korea
< >
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany battled former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer Zac Petkanas Friday over President Trump's progress in North Korea denuclearization talks.
"The fact that you can't praise Donald Trump for [his denuclearization efforts], it's breathtaking," McEnany said to Petkanas. "We should put America first. Not Democrats first."
The president touched on a variety of topics, including North Korea, during a speech Thursday in Ohio.
"Just this week, we secured a wonderful deal with South Korea. We're in a deal that was a horror show," Trump said.
"We're moving along very nicely with North Korea," he added. "We'll see what happens."

For years and through many administrations, everyone said that peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was not even a small possibility. Now there is a good chance that Kim Jong Un will do what is right for his people and for humanity. Look forward to our meeting!

Petkanas criticized the entertaining and lightheartedness of Trump's speech, saying what was discussed regarding North Korea was "unhinged."
"Why would you undermine South Korea, just as they are going into negotiations with North Korea?" he asked.
Kim Jong Un is expected to meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in next month, a conversation that could potentially help curtail the North Korean dictator's nuclear weapons program.
"We have never been this close to denuclearization with North Korea, and we are this close because we have a business man and a negotiator," McEnany said.
