I saw where the new appropriations bill has a prohibition on Justice for acting against medical cannabis, it reiterates what Congress has previously approved. In my view this is still solving a small part of the problem. With the FDA telling the DEA that cannabis should be reclassified because they've observed its benefits, Congress is sticking to an approach that says it can be available as a Drug in State's that have legalized it as a Drug, but once again, for a limited time.
With the FDA recognizing benefits, shouldn't medical cannabis be available everywhere? I'm fine with State's deciding where it can be used recreationally, but if someone has a medical problem that cannabis helps to resolve, shouldn't it be available everywhere, and shouldn't it be available forever, not just for the term of a funding document.
What would happen to the alcohol based industries if once a year Congress had to act to say that wine, liquor, etc. will remain legal for another year. They would go crazy. It's time for this problem to be resolved permanently, not just for another fiscal year.
